Abstract:Ecomate® is an environmentally benign blowing agent for rigid foam insulation, having zero ODP [Ozone Depletion Potential], zero GWP [Global Warming Potential], and is VOC [volatile organic compound, i.e., photochemical smog] exempt by the US-EPA. No other blowing agent on the market has these credentials. It is designed to replace CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, and HFOs around the world. It is as efficient as currently used foam blowing agents, such as HFC-245fa and HFC-134a. For every pound of ecomate used to replace an HFC, for instance, a metric tons of CO2 equivalents [GWP] can be saved. And since ecomate does not contribute to photochemical smog, it can be used in Air Pollution Containment Districts without disrupting the environment, nor displacing jobs.
