| Abstract: | Nanopipette technology is capable of detecting and functional analyzing bio-molecules based on difference on their size, shape and electrical charge. This unique label-free biosensor is inexpensive, easy to fabricate and versatile. Nanopipette functionalized with antibodies specific to HT-2 toxin, a food-borne pathogen, showed a limit of detection for HT-2 toxin as low as 100 fg/ml with a dynamic range of 4 logs. We are currently investigating the application of functionalized nanopipette for HPV proteins detection. A highly sensitive nanopipette probe can be precisely positioned at any sub-cellular region, thus paving the way for single cell immunoassay. |
