Abstract:This can be provided by understanding the nucleation and growth mechanism of nanoparticles. In this paper, the nucleation and the growth of TiO2 nanoparticles were studied with Sugimoto model, in a homogeneous closed system which was used to form the monodispersed nanoparticles. On the base of this model some parameters of the nucleation and the growth of nanoparticles such as supply rate of the solute (Q0), molar volume of the solid (Vm), and mean volumic growth rate of the stable nuclei during the nucleation period (v) were determined and then the particle size and the initial particle radius (r0) have been predicted and evaluated by TEM and SEM images. Typical obtained results were v=2.93E102 nm3.s-1 and r0=8.2nm under the standard conditions at 70°C. The maximum supersaturating ratio (Sm) was found to be 3.07. It has been found that the radius of a stable nucleus and formation free energy of them at the maximum supersaturation equal to rm=4.3nm and Gm=1.8E10-16 j, respectively.
